Twinn Vad efternamn betyder
from Middle English twin(ne) ‘twin’ (Old English (ge)twinn) for someone born as a twin. Some early bearers may belong with (2) or (3). from Tewin (Herts) which is recorded as Tiwinges in 1191 Tewing in 1198 and Tuyn in 1596. The place-name probably means ‘the people of Tiwa’ from the Old English personal name Tīwa + the Old English group-name suffix -ingas though it is possible that the first element is for the god Tīw (and so the place-name means ‘the followers of Tiw’) or from Old English *tiwe ‘meeting place court’ (‘the dwellers by the meeting place’). see Twine.
