Mullock Vad efternamn betyder
from Middle English mullok ‘rubbish’. It is possible that the surname is locative as the word mullok also had the sense ‘rubbish heap’ but no prepositional form such as atte Mullok has been noted so a nickname seems more probable.as suggested by Titford perhaps from Mullock in Roche (Pembrokes) recorded as Milnhochisdich (1232-42) and Mullock (1532) in Pembrokes Place-Names p. 634 where it is explained as a compound of Old English myln ‘mill’ + hōc ‘hook of land’ (+ dīc ‘ditch’ in the 1232-42 form). There is a spur or hook of land there. However there is no medieval evidence yet that this place-name gave rise to a surname. from Mac Míoluic ‘son of Míoluc’ a personal name of uncertain etymology possibly a diminutive of the personal name Milo.
