Kanada, regementsrullor för kompanibefäl och soldater inom brittiska armén, 1806-1892

Den här databasen innehåller olika regementsrullor över brittiska soldater och officerare som tjänstgjorde i Kanada.

This database contains various regimental rolls for British soldiers and officers serving in regiments in Canada. The records vary some in type, but they may contain a number of details about a soldier, from a physical description to reasons for leaving the service:

  • name
  • birth town and county
  • age, date, and place of attestation or enlistment
  • physical description
  • trade
  • rank
  • company/unit
  • marital status
  • religion
  • date of death

In addition to the list of details already identified, these records may contain information not only on the date of death, but also place. While the forms may vary from one time period to another, there is information on promotions and reductions (or demotions). As well, there is a column described as “Non-Effective”, which indicates the reasons why a soldier is no longer on strength with the regiment and may include information on discharge, transfer to another regiment, pensioned or deserted. In almost every case, a date is recorded.
